{"id":428305,"date":"2021-09-09T12:24:10","date_gmt":"2021-09-09T16:24:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.investmentexecutive.com\/?p=428305"},"modified":"2021-09-09T12:27:19","modified_gmt":"2021-09-09T16:27:19","slug":"how-investment-firms-are-promoting-diversity-and-inclusion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.investmentexecutive.com\/news\/industry-news\/how-investment-firms-are-promoting-diversity-and-inclusion\/","title":{"rendered":"How investment firms can promote diversity and inclusion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Incorporating successful diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) strategies requires three distinct components, according to a recent report from the CFA Institute.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This week the institute released the findings of its <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfainstitute.org\/en\/about\/press-releases\/2019\/investment-firms-take-action-on-diversity-and-inclusion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Experimental Partners Program<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, an international project that called on 41 investment organizations to test the efficacy of DEI practices in the investment industry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Overall, the association found that successful DEI programs relied on three components: leadership that is committed, trained and accountable; frequent, informative, two-way communication with employees; and a DEI plan embedded in the overall business strategy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfainstitute.org\/-\/media\/documents\/article\/industry-research\/accelerating-change.ashx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The report<\/a> outlines practical takeaways to advance DEI, and includes strategies to attain \u201cbehavioural and organizational change\u201d within firms as they work to incorporate successful DEI strategies, a release said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;In what has become a highly dynamic period of global change, the Experimental Partners Program brings forth a wealth of new data, both qualitative and quantitative, that firms of all sizes can draw upon to help shape and sustain their DEI strategies,\u201d said Margaret Franklin, president and CEO of the CFA Institute, in the release.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Experimental Partners Program ran from July 2019 to December 2020.
