David McKay, group head of Canadian banking for Toronto-based Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), was named Retail Banker of the Year at the annual Retail Banker International Awards organized by Retail Banker International, a publication produced by London-based Financial News Publishing Ltd. RBC also was recognized as Best Retail Bank in North America. McKay won the award for his leadership and performance in times of economic uncertainty.
