New CEO at Fidelity

Abigail Johnson has been named CEO of Boston-based FMR LLC, more commonly known as Fidelity Investments. She is the third CEO for the company, which was founded by her grandfather in 1946. She takes over from her father, Edward Johnson, who has been CEO since 1977. The elder Johnson will remain chairman of the company’s board of directors. Abigail Johnson began working at Fidelity Investments in 1988 as a stock analyst. She most recently was president of the company’s retail, workplace and institutional businesses. Fidelity Investments is the parent company of Toronto-based Fidelity Investments Canada ULC.
