Mark Gordon has been appointed president and CEO of the Toronto-based Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada, effective Oct. 1. He will replace Larry Waite, who will be retiring on Sept. 30. Gordon currently is executive vice president of the MFDA and has been with the organization since it was established in 1998. Since then, the MFDA has grown into a national self-regulatory organization with offices in Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary and a staff of 170. Prior to joining the MFDA, Gordon was senior legal counsel for the Ontario Securities Commission.
