Toronto-based Bank of Nova Scotia is realigning its global wealth and insurance businesses, effective Nov. 1. As part of the reorganization, James O’Sullivan will become executive vice president of global wealth management, taking over leadership of global asset management and global wealth distribution, and report to Anatol von Hahn, group head, Canadian banking, and Dieter Jentsch, group head, international banking. The Canadian and international insurance divisions now will be under the bank’s Canadian banking and international banking business lines, respectively. Finally, Marian Lawson will lead global transaction banking as executive vice president of global financial institutions and transaction banking, reporting to Mike Durland, group head and CEO, global banking and markets. These changes reflect Chris Hodgson’s retirement as group head, global wealth and insurance, on Oct. 31.
