Toronto-based Vanguard Investments Canada Inc. has launched four actively managed exchange-traded funds (ETFs), representing the company’s first foray into the actively managed ETF business. Vanguard Global Minimum Volatility ETF’s objective is to provide long-term capital appreciation with reduced volatility compared with the global equities market; the ETF seeks to do this by investing in equities from developed and emerging markets. Vanguard Global Value Factor ETF invests in equities from global developed markets with low prices relative to fundamentals. Similarly, Vanguard Global Momentum Factor ETF invests in equities from global developed markets that have achieved recent strong performance. Vanguard Global Liquidity Factor ETF seeks long-term capital appreciation through investments in slightly illiquid equities from developed markets. The four ETFs have a management fee of 0.35% for common shares.
