Toronto-based Sun Life Global Investments (Canada) Inc. has introduced Sun Life NWQ Flexible Income Fund, which is subadvised by Los Angeles-based NWQ Investment Management Co. LLC. This high-yield income fund provides unitholders with monthly fixed distributions from a mandate that seeks to achieve income and capital appreciation by investing primarily in a diversified portfolio of income-producing securities. The fund portfolio manager aims to select investments at the optimal point of a company’s capital structure – equity, preferred stock or debt – in which the combination of risk management, sustainability of income and return potential may offer the greatest opportunity. Advisor commissions are 0%-5% for front-end sales, 5% for deferred sales or 2% for the low-load option. Redemption fees begin at 5.5% in Year 1 and end at zero after Year 7 for the regular DSC schedule; or begin at 3% in Year 1 and end at zero after Year 3 of the low-load schedule. Trailing commissions are up to 0.5% for front-end sales, and up to 0.25% for deferred and low-load sales. Management fees are 1.35% for A-class units and 0.85% for F-class units. Minimum investment is $500.
