Toronto-based Purpose Investments Inc. has launched two income-generating investments that are available as mutual funds and ETFs. Purpose Conservative Income Fund is meant for investors looking for a risk-managed strategy that provides a moderate level of income with modest capital appreciation, all while managing market volatility and downside risk. This fund uses an equities-based, option-collar overlay strategy to reduce the fund’s dependency on a heavy bond weighting, thereby allowing for a higher exposure to equities and potentially enhanced overall returns. The second fund, Purpose Canadian Financial Income Fund, offers investors exposure to a concentrated portfolio of Canada’s largest banks and life insurance companies. As well, this fund uses an active covered-call option strategy toprovide investors with enhanced, tax-efficient monthly distributions and the potential for long-term growth while also mitigating risk. Advisor commissions for both mutual funds’ front-end sales are 0%-5%. Trailing commissions are 1% for front-end sales. Management fees are 1.55% for A-class units and 0.55% for F-class units. Minimum investment is $5,000. Management fees for the ETF series of the two funds are 55%.
