Toronto-based Manulife Investments, a division of Manulife Asset Management Ltd., has launched a private investment pool and two fixed-income mutual funds. The pool, Manulife U.S. Balanced Value Private Trust, will focus on U.S. dividend-paying equities and fixed-income securities. Alan Wicks, Jonathon Popper and Conard Dabiet will co-manage this pool’s equities; Howard Greene, Jeffrey Given and Konstantin Kizunov will manage the fixed-income component. The two new fixed-income mutual funds are Manulife U.S. Dollar Strategic Income Fund and Manulife Strategic Investment Grade Global Bond Fund. The U.S.-dollar fund follows the same investment strategy as Manulife Strategic Income Fund but is available solely in U.S. dollars. Thus, Strategic Income Fund is closed to new U.S.-dollar purchases. Manulife Strategic Investment Grade Global Bond Fund invests in investment-grade, global government and corporate bonds. Visit www.manulifemutualfunds.ca for fee information on the funds.
