Rick Weed, senior vice president, investment management, with Toronto-based Mackenzie Financial Corp., and his systematic strategies team have three more mutual funds to manage: Mackenzie Global Small Cap Growth Fund, Mackenzie Global Small Cap Growth Class and Mackenzie Growth Fund. Weed and his team replace Chuck Bastyr (formerly vice president and portfolio manager with Mackenzie, who left the firm at the end of 2015) as portfolio managers of Mackenzie Global Small Cap Growth Fund. The other two new mandates are a result of internal changes at Mackenzie. As well, because of changes in Mackenzie’s Singapore office, New York-based J.P. Morgan Asset Management’s emerging markets and Asia-Pacific equities team now is responsible for the management of Mackenzie Emerging Markets Opportunities Class and Mackenzie Emerging Market Opportunities Fund. Austin Forey and Leon Eidelman are the lead portfolio managers for those two funds. Konstantin Boehmer, vice president and portfolio manager with Mackenzie, now is responsible for managing Mackenzie Asian Bond Fund and a portion of Symmetry Global Bond Fund.
