TD Asset Management Inc. has launched the Premium Series of its TD Managed Assets Program portfolios. The fund-of-funds products comprise funds from TD’s mutual fund lineup, as well as some funds from other Canadian fund companies (in the case of TD FundSmart Managed Portfolios). “The Premium Series is aimed at higher-balance investors; it offers a lower MER in return for a higher minimum investment,” says Tim Pinnington, president of TD Mutual Funds. The portfolios are all no-load, with trailing commissions of up to 1.5%. Capped MERs range from 1.6% to 2.45%, which is at least 0.5% below the capped MER for existing Investor Series TD MAP portfolios, the company says. Minimum investment is $250,000. In addition, TD has launched the F-series version of 10 existing TD mutual funds: TD Monthly Income, TD Income Advantage Portfolio, TD U.S. Equity Advantage Portfolio, TD Dividend Income, TD Resource, TD Balanced Income, TD U.S. Small-Cap Equity, TD Canadian Small-Cap Equity, TD Global RSP Bond and TD International Equity. “The F-class option broadens the product lineup and gives advisors who are trending away from commissions another option,” says Pinnington. Management fees range from 0.75% to 1.25%. Minimum investment is $5,000.
