Toronto-based Horizons Exchange Traded Funds Inc. and its affiliate, AlphaPro Management Inc., have launched two new exchange-traded funds (ETFs): a core Canadian bond ETF and an emerging-markets dividend ETF. Horizons Active Canadian Bond ETF is an actively managed ETF that seeks long-term returns primarily through maximized interest income and moderate capital appreciation. This fund invests primarily in a portfolio of high-quality Canadian fixed-income securities denominated in Canadian dollars, including government and corporate bonds. The fund is subadvised by Toronto-based Fiera Capital Corp. The second new ETF, Horizons Active Emerging Market Dividend ETF, is an actively managed ETF that seeks long-term returns consisting of regular dividend income and modest long-term capital growth. This fund invests primarily in equities and equities-related securities of companies with operations in emerging-market economies. The fund is subadvised by Toronto-based Guardian Capital LP. Horizons’ ETF lineup consists of 81 ETFs. In addition, Horizons has announced name changes to 10 of its ETFs. For example, Horizons Dividend ETF is now Horizons Active Canadian Dividend ETF, and Horizons Global Dividend ETF is now Horizons Active Global Dividend ETF. The investment objectives and strategies of these ETFs remain unchanged. For a full listing of name changes, visit www.horizonsetfs.com.
