Toronto-based Fidelity Investments Canada ULC has launched a new fixed-income mutual fund. Fidelity Multi-Sector Bond Fund seeks to provide unitholders with a steady flow of income and potential capital gains. The fund works toward this goal by investing in global issuers across a variety of fixed-income subsectors, including government bonds, corporate bonds, high-yield bonds and floating-rate debt. Jeff Moore and Michael Plage are the fund’s portfolio managers. Advisor commissions are 4.9% for deferred sales, 1% for the low-load option and 2.5% for the low-load 2 option. Redemption fees begin at 6% in Year 1 and end at zero after Year 6 for the regular DSC schedule; begin at 2% in Year 1 and end at zero after Year 2 of the low-load schedule; and begin at 3% in Year 1 and end at zero after Year 3 of the low-load 2 schedule. Trailing commissions are 0.25% for deferred sales, 0.5% for low-load sales and 0.25% for low-load 2 sales. Management fees are 1.45% for A-class units and 0.7% for F-class units. Minimum investment is $500.
