Toronto-based Manulife Mutual Funds is broadening its lineup to allow investors access to tax-efficient income. Series T and Series IT funds (designed for investors seeking regular, monthly cash flow) have been expanded to include more funds within the Manulife fund lineup, and Series FT versions (which generally are designed for investors who have fee-based or wrap accounts) have been added to all funds with Series T and IT versions. The Series T structure provides tax-efficient monthly cash flow to unitholders and will now be available to more than 75 Manulife mutual funds; it can be used on its own or to supplement traditional fixed-income investments in a diversified portfolio. Most Manulife funds already feature Series T versions and offer monthly targeted distributions of 6%. In addition, Manulife Leveraged Company Class Fund has been renamed Manulife Special Opportunities Class Fund.
