Toronto-based Quadrus Investment Services Ltd. has launched three low-volatility mutual funds. Global Low Volatility Fund seeks to provide unitholders with long-term capital growth through investments in global equities that are likely to have little sensitivity to broad market movements. The fund may invest up to 100% of its assets under management (AUM) in units of Mackenzie Global Low Volatility Fund, which is subadvised by Dublin-based Irish Life Investment Managers Ltd. Canadian Low Volatility Class (London Capital) Fund focuses on Canadian equities with low volatility although the fund may hold up to 10% of its AUM in foreign investments. Similarly, U.S. Low Volatility Fund (Putnam) Fund’s objective is to provide unitholders with long-term capital appreciation through investing primarily in U.S. equities with low volatility. The Quadrus Group of Funds, of which all three of these funds are members, is managed by Toronto-based Mackenzie Investments, which is a member of IGM Financial Inc.
