Toronto-based Brandes Investment Partners & Co., together with New York-based Lazard Asset Management LLC, has launched two new funds: Lazard Global Equity Income Fund and Lazard Emerging Markets Multi-Strategy Fund. Lazard Global Equity Income Fund invests primarily in the equities of large-, medium- and small-capitalization issuers based around the globe, including in emerging markets. The fund seeks to invest in high-yielding equities focused on total return and not purely dividend yield. Lazard Emerging Markets Multi-Strategy Fund invests primarily in the equities, debt and currencies of emerging-market issuers. Its multi-asset allocation structure is designed to provide risk-conscious clients with access to emerging-markets opportunities with lower volatility. Advisor commissions are 0%-5% for front-end sales, 5% for deferred sales charges (DSC) and 2% for the low-load option. Redemption fees for both funds begin at 5.5% in Year 1 and end at zero after Year 7 for the regular DSC schedule; or begin at 3% in Year 1 and end at zero after Year 3 for the low-load schedule. Trailing commissions are 1% for front-end sales; 0.5% for deferred sales; and 0.5% for the first three years of the low-load option, and 1% thereafter. For more information on trailing commissions, please visit www.brandesinvestments.ca. Management fees are 2.1% for A-class units or 1.1% for F-class units for Lazard Global Equity Income Fund; and 2.2% for A-class units or 1.2% for F-class units of Lazard Emerging Markets Multi-Strategy Fund.
