Geoff Michie believes networking and education are two key aspects to building your business. How you use that knowledge is equally important.
“It is your ability to have discussions, your ability to show clients how you can bring it all together,” he says, “as well as your ability to talk to other professionals.”
Michie takes his clients through the entire planning process, starting with identifying the key vulnerabilities that could “knock them off their rails.
“We need to look at those and take it up from where they are,” says Michie. “How do we build value into this, and how do we help them retire the way they want to?”
By completing his chartered professional strategic wealth designation, Michie believes he is moving with the times. “It’s a great program. In my opinion, this is where the industry has to go. The advisor of tomorrow must be able to talk ‘wealth management’.”
