TMX Group Ltd. (TMX) plans to conduct a couple of disaster recovery tests over the coming weeks, the Toronto-based exchange operator has announced.
TMX will conduct an internal disaster recovery test on Saturday, Sept. 8. The purpose of the internal test is to “validate the failover of TMX’s primary trading and feed delivery systems,” TMX says in a notice.
Clients will lose network connectivity to the exchange operator’s Markham, Ont. data centre during test, says TMX, and “any alerts generated should be suppressed or ignored.”
Connectivity will be restored at approximately 23:00 ET, followed by notice sent to “the Street when the test is over and normal operations have resumed,” TMX adds.
The external disaster recovery test is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 13.
During external tests, “client participation is permitted and encouraged,” TMX says.
Further information about external testing will be released closer to the testing date.
