Standard & Poor’s released their monghly adjustments of the S&P/TSX Canadian Bond Index for May today.

Changes in par amounts and term to existing index constituents are considered in the appraisal of Canadian bonds, the index is not opinion related.

The new index includes qualifying new issues and older constituents which still qualify, while those that do not meet the requirements are removed

Entrants into the index include issues Canadian Tire and Aliant Telecom Inc. and others from the municipal, financial and utilities sectors.

In total 12 issues are entering the index, and 31 issues are leaving.
