A power outage hit some of the biggest office towers in Toronto’s financial district for nearly two hours on Thursday afternoon.
Power went out in a wide area around 13:30 ET. Among the business properties affected was First Canadian Place West, the home of the Toronto Stock Exchange.
Trading on both the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture exchange continued, since the exchanges run on their own power source, TSX spokesperson Carolyn Quick said.
“Trading and data continued to flow,” Quick said.
By 15:20 ET, power in the downtown core was restored.
