Five new directors have been appointed to the board overseeing the Bank of Canada (BoC).
The crop of new directors joining the board of the central bank includes financial industry executive Stephanie Bowman, who was most recently senior vice president, structural cost transformation, at Bank of Nova Scotia.
Bowman is joined by Debora Bielecki, a business consultant and former executive at Hewlett Packard; Robert Campbell, the former president and vice chancellor of Mount Allison University; Mariette Mulaire, president and CEO of the World Trade Centre Winnipeg; and Anne Whelan, CEO of Seafair Capital.
In addition, two directors were reappointed to the board: Claire Kennedy, managing partner at Bennett Jones LLP; and, Greg Stewart, former president and CEO at Farm Credit Canada.
“The experience and backgrounds of the new appointees announced today will make them fine additions to the bank’s board of directors,” said Bill Morneau, federal finance minister, in a statement.
