The Nasdaq OMX Group, Inc. announced that it attracted more initial public offerings in the first quarter of 2008 than any other U.S. exchange.

Nasdaq captured 10 IPOs in the quarter. Several of the largest U.S. IPOs listed on Nasdaq, led by Danvers Bancorp, Inc., which raised more than US$171 million.

It also continued to capture more new listings than any other U.S. exchange, as measured by the total number of issues. During the first quarter, Nasdaq captured 48 new listings, including the 10 IPOs, 15 transfers from other exchanges, 15 graduates from the over-the-counter bulletin board, and eight listings of exchange-traded funds or structured products.
