egX Group reports that the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) has granted an exemption order authorizing egX Canada to carry on business as a stock exchange in Ontario.
The exemption is based on the recognition order from the British Columbia Securities Commission, which is the principal regulator of egX Canada.
Vancouver-based egX Group is developing egX, a global securities marketplace designed for the listing and trading of real estate and infrastructure securities. The company is preparing to launch its first marketplace in Canada under egX Canada,
The groups says egX Canada will provide new investment opportunities for retail and institutional investors and offer issuers increased access to the capital markets, at a time when the credit markets are tightening.
“We have worked closely with the OSC through the application process and we are extremely pleased to have received an exemption order in Ontario,” says Mary Wong, president of egX Canada.
