The Toronto Stock Exchange was evacuated for a couple of hours Wednesday due to a bomb threat.

Spokeswoman Carolyn Quick says the switchboard received the call at about 12:30 p.m. and phoned police, who then ordered the evacuation.

The three floors the TMX Group Inc. occupies was evacuated and employees were allowed to return after the all-clear at about 2:20 p.m.

Toronto police Const. Wendy Drummond says officers searched and found “absolutely no evidence of any type of explosive.”

Trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange was not affected.
