New York-based BGC Partners Inc. announced on Thursday that has entered into an agreement to acquire Toronto-based Perimeter Markets Inc.

Details of the transaction — in which BGC, a global brokerage company that services the financial and real estate markets, is acquiring Perimeter, an independent provider of electronic fixed-income and futures trading in Canada through its CBID platforms — were not disclosed.

“This transaction will enhance BGC’s electronic offering and increase its footprint in the Canadian marketplace,” sys Shaun Lynn, president of BGC, in a statement.

Completion of the transaction is subject to legal and regulatory approvals and certain closing conditions.
