CI Investments Inc. Monday announced the appointment of portfolio manager Bob Lyon, a highly regarded specialist in the natural resource sectors, to the Signature Global Asset Management team.
Lyon will assume the title of senior vice president, portfolio management and be responsible for Signature’s resource-focused funds, as well as the domestic and foreign natural resource equity holdings within other Signature funds, effective Jan. 1, 2015. He will be named lead portfolio manager of Signature Global Resource Fund, Signature Global Resource Corporate Class, Signature Global Energy Corporate Class and Signature Gold Corporate Class.
The appointment marks Lyon’s return to CI and Signature. He was a key member of Signature from 1999-2006, during which time he was portfolio manager of the Signature Global Resource and Signature Global Energy funds.

Lyon has over 21 years of investment industry experience. Most recently, he was lead manager of the resource portfolios at AGF Investments Inc. since 2008. He started his career as a research analyst at investment dealers ScotiaMcLeod and Lévesque Beaubien Geoffrion and at fund manager I.A. Michael Investment Counsel. In 1997, Lyon joined BPI Mutual Funds, where he assumed responsibility for its resource fund, before joining CI two years later. He holds a bachelor of commerce degree from Carleton University and the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Signature Global Asset Management manages over $50 billion in a diverse lineup of equity, balanced and income-oriented funds, and is CI’s largest in-house portfolio management group.
