Toronto-based Vanguard Investments Canada Inc. announced plans to wrap up four of its ETFs later this summer.
As of Aug. 25, 2020 the following funds will be terminated:
- Vanguard Canadian Short-Term Government Bond Index ETF
- Vanguard FTSE Developed Asia Pacific All Cap Index ETF (CAD-hedged)
- Vanguard FTSE Developed Europe All Cap Index ETF (CAD-hedged)
- Vanguard Global Liquidity Factor ETF
The funds are expected to be de-listed from the Toronto Stock Exchange on Aug. 21, 2020.
Prior to the termination date, the fund portfolio manager will sell and convert all assets of the ETFs to cash. On August 25, the net assets of the ETFs will be distributed among unitholders on a pro rata basis.
The decision to terminate the ETFs was made following a product review.
Vanguard has also announced risk rating changes to 15 of its ETFs.
The affected funds are as follows:
- Vanguard Global ex-U.S. Aggregate Bond Index ETF (CAD-hedged)
- Vanguard FTSE Canadian High Dividend Yield Index ETF
- Vanguard FTSE Canada Index ETF
- Vanguard FTSE Canada All Cap Index ETF
- Vanguard FTSE Global All Cap Index ETF
- Vanguard FTSE Global All Cap ex Canada Index ETF
- Vanguard FTSE Developed Asia Pacific All Cap Index ETF
- TSE Developed Asia Pacific All Cap Index ETF (CAD-hedged)
- Vanguard FTSE Developed All Cap ex North America Index ETF
- Vanguard FTSE Developed All Cap ex North America Index ETF (CAD-hedged)
- Vanguard U.S. Dividend Appreciation Index ETF
- Vanguard U.S. Dividend Appreciation Index ETF (CAD-hedged)
- Vanguard U.S. Total Market Index ETF
- Vanguard U.S Total Market Index ETF (CAD-hedged)
- Vanguard S&P 500 Index ETF
- Vanguard S&P 500 Index ETF (CAD-hedged)
