Technology Investments Management Corp. (TIMCO) of London, Ont. and Capital Alliance Management Inc. (CAMI) of Ottawa announced Friday that they have amalgamated under the TIMCO name.
The merged company plans to change its name to Fullarton Capital Corp. by end of October of this year.
TIMCO is best known for its management of the Canadian Science and Technology Growth Fund Inc., a national labour-sponsored venture capital funds. TIMCO, as successor to CAMI, will continue to manage Capital Alliance Ventures Inc., an Ontario labour-sponsored venture capital fund.
Combined, the two funds represent more than $120 million in assets under management, placing TIMCO in the company of some of the top LSVC fund management companies in Canada.
CAMI and CAVI senior managers Richard Charlebois and Ross Dedman, who were key contributors to the growth and success of these companies, will become officers of the merged company. They, along with CAVI founder Denzil Doyle, will join current TIMCO senior managers Peter Day (TIMCO President), Paul Johnson and Glen Smeltzer to form the senior management team of the combined firm. The new TIMCO structure will have a total of 14 employees working in the London and Ottawa offices.
The company’s funds will continue to be sold separately and marketed through Talvest Fund Management.
