TD Securities announced today the introduction of a suite of equity algorithms powered by Goldman Sachs & Co. The licensing agreement will allow TD Securities’ clients to access the market-leading algorithmic trading strategies offered by Goldman Sachs Algorithmic Trading (GSAT).
There are currently six GSAT algorithmic strategies available specific to the Canadian market, with an additional two in development for future release.
“We see this as a significant value add for our clients,” says Robbie Pryde, vice chairman, TD Securities. “Pairing TD Newcrest, the No.1 Canadian equity franchise, with Goldman Sachs’ established, sophisticated Canadian algorithms creates a powerful tool for our clients who look to us for best execution. This unique offering also provides our clients flexibility in how they access the equity markets.”
Duncan Niederauer, managing director, Goldman Sachs commented, “We are excited about working with an industry leader in the Canadian marketplace to offer our algorithmic solutions. Electronic and algorithmic trading tools are clearly becoming a necessary avenue for accessing liquidity in the Canadian equity markets.”
