Toronto-based Sun Life Global Investments (Canada) Inc. launched three new corporate class mutual funds for retail investors on Monday.
The move brings Invesco Canada Ltd. and Bridgehouse Asset Managers, both in Toronto, into the sub-advisor fold of Sun Life Global Investments and expands its product offering with Franklin Templeton Institutional, part of Franklin Templeton Investments Corp. (Canada), in Toronto.
“The launch of these funds underscores our commitment to offering Canadians great products and more tax-smart avenues for diversifying their investments,” says Sadiq Adatia, chief investment officer at Sun Life Global Investments.
Sun Life Trimark Canadian Class Fund will be sub-advised by Trimark Investments, which is part of Invesco. Its objective is to achieve consistent long-term capital appreciation primarily by investing directly in common securities of Canadian companies or indirectly by investing in mutual funds, including exchange-traded funds (ETF), that invest in such securities.
Sionna Investment Managers Inc., a sub-advisor of Bridgehouse Asset Managers, will manage Sun Life Sionna Canadian Small Cap Equity Class fund. The objective is to seek long-term capital appreciation mainly through exposure to equity securities of small to medium capitalization Canadian companies by tracking the performance of the Sionna Canadian Small Cap Equity fund or its successor fund.
Sun Life Franklin Bissett Canadian Equity Class fund will be sub-advised by Franklin Templeton Institutional. The fund looks to achieve long-term capital appreciation primarily by investing directly in a diversified portfolio of mid to large capitalization Canadian equities or indirectly by investing in mutual funds, including ETFs, that invest in such securities.
