Standard Life Mutual Funds Ltd. Thursday launched two new products, Managed Portfolios, available only under series-A for clients with more than $25,000 to deposit, and the Standard Life Global Dividend Growth Fund.
The four funds of funds in the Managed Portfolios program are designed to match either conservative, moderate, growth or aggressive investor profiles. Each portfolio is rebalanced every quarter. Commissions are 0-5% negotiable. Trailer fees paid by the company range from 0.75% and 1.00%.
The funds invest in other funds managed by Standard Life. Management fees range from 1.90% on the Conservative portfolio to 2.10% on the Aggressive portfolio. Managers intend to distribute any net income annually and any net realized capital gains annually in December so that the portfolio will generally not pay income tax. Additional distributions may also be made at the discretion of the manager.
The Standard Life Global Dividend Growth Fund is available for a minimum investment of $1,000 or $100 if clients already have an investment account with Standard Life. Similar to the company’s Canadian Dividend Growth Fund, the global fund invests in equities and fixed income securities of mid to large sized companies or issuers with strong financial positions.
Managers may also invest in products managed by the company. Management fees are 2.00% for clients with less than $100,000 in their account. Those with sufficient assets may purchase E-series or Legend series or O-series shares of the fund.
