Bank of Nova Scotia today introduced its new low-priced unlimited transaction banking account, Scotia One account, with a special offer through which new account-holders can receive a free return flight to selected North American destinations.
With a monthly fee of $9.95, the bank says the new Scotia One account provides great value for Canadians. The new low flat monthly fee account includes unlimited eligible banking transactions, including cash withdrawals, bill payments, chequing and transfers. It also provides unlimited access to Scotiabank automated banking machines, branches, ScotiaOnLine internet banking, TeleScotia telephone banking and debit card purchases, excluding cross-border debit transactions. The account requires no minimum monthly balance.
“The Scotia One account is designed for today’s consumers who make frequent everyday banking transactions, especially high volume users of electronic transactions such as ABM withdrawals or debit card purchases,” said Gillian Riley, managing director, retail deposits, Scotiabank.
“On top of the true value offered by this account, as part of our ‘Fly Free with Scotia One’ offer, each customer can also receive a return airline ticket that Canadians have told us would be of great value when opening a Scotia One account with us,” added Riley.
Between now and October 31, customers who open a Scotia One account and set up a direct deposit of their payroll or pension to the account, or set up two distinct pre-authorized payment plans from the account, can receive a flight voucher for a free return flight to one of 10 destinations in Canada or the United States. Some conditions apply. For example, voucher holders who depart from east of the Manitoba/Ontario border can fly from St. John’s to New York City, Halifax to Toronto, Montreal to Washington, D.C., Toronto to Miami, or Ottawa to Chicago.
Once the customer qualifies, the flight voucher can be used within one year of signing up for the Scotia One account and includes no black out periods. It excludes the cost of applicable taxes, fees and service charges. Travel arrangements are handled by international travel supplier TLC Canada Inc.
