Russell Investments Canada Ltd. has appointed AllianceBernstein LP to manage a portion of the Russell Overseas Equity Fund.

AllianceBernstein will manage approximately 20% of the fund, specializing in value investing. As part of this appointment, The Boston Company is no longer a manager in the fund.

“We believe that AllianceBernstein is a highly-ranked value manager that offers broad value exposure to the fund. We have high confidence in the excess return drivers of this product,” says Sadiq Adatia, who is involved in the management of all of the LifePoints portfolios as well as the Russell Overseas Equity Fund.

AllianceBernstein is considered an industry leader for its security selection process. Stocks are evaluated on a combination of value measures (such as price/forward earnings, price/cash earnings and price/book) and success measures such as stock-price momentum and return on equity.
