CI Investments Inc. today announced the launch of the Cambridge Funds, a new family of mutual funds under the direction of highly regarded portfolio manager Alan Radlo.
Radlo is chief investment officer of the Cambridge Funds team and is lead portfolio manager of Cambridge Canadian Equity Corporate Class, Cambridge Canadian Asset Allocation Corporate Class and Cambridge Global Equity Corporate Class.
“Radlo has an exceptional track record, having rewarded investors with strong returns while providing downside protection in volatile markets. He has quite rightly earned a loyal following among Canadian advisors and investors.” says Peter Anderson, CEO of Toronto-based CI.
Radlo came to prominence in the Canadian investment community through his work with Boston-based Fidelity Investments and its Canadian subsidiary. In his 21 years at Fidelity, he managed various Canadian equity, global equity and balanced portfolios. For the last 12 years, his focus was on managing mutual fund portfolios offered in Canada. When he left Fidelity in December 2006, he was responsible for approximately $10 billion in assets.
“I am excited to join with CI to launch a new family of funds,” says Radlo. “I have admired CI for some time and have held CI Financial Income Fund as a core investment in my former portfolios.
“At CI, I am building a team to manage the Cambridge Funds using the principles and the approach that I have developed and refined over the last 25 years,” he adds.
Radlo is senior vp, portfolio management, at CI Investments and will be based in Boston. As CI employees, the Cambridge team will have the full support of CI’s administrative, technology and trading resources.
The Cambridge Funds are open-end mutual funds and part of the tax-efficient CI Corporate Class. They are available through financial advisors in Class A, F, I and W shares, and with T-Class, CI’s tax-efficient cash flow service.
