HSBC Asset Management (Canada) Ltd. has changed its name to HSBC Investments (Canada) Ltd. effective today.

The investment management firm is the manager of the HSBC Pooled Funds.

The re-naming of the firm is part of a new global strategy for the investment management business of the HSBC Group. The strategy, announced in December 2004, is designed to help HSBC significantly increase the levels of investment business conducted with customers by focusing on delivering appropriate solutions to meet their needs and reorganizing its investment business to compete with the best through greater specialization, focus and excellence.

HSBC Investment Funds (Canada) Inc., a mutual fund dealer and manager of HSBC Mutual Funds, will be unaffected by this name change.

“Our name change signals the commitment of HSBC to understand and meet client needs and to provide the excellent service that our clients have come to expect from us. Our objective is to deliver the best investment solutions for our clients by drawing upon the strongest investment management expertise from within and outside the HSBC Group,” said Marc Cevey, HSBC Investments (Canada) Ltd.
