Manulife Investments, a division of Toronto-based Manulife Asset Management Ltd., announced Wednesday that Jaime Ramos Martin will take over as lead portfolio manager of Manulife Global Equity Unconstrained Fund and the Manulife Global Equity Unconstrained Class in the second quarter of 2018.
Martin has been co-portfolio manager of the funds since December 2016 and follows a team-based approach with the global equity team of Edinburgh, Scotland-based Aberdeen Standard Investments. Co-portfolio manager Mikhail Zverev will leave Aberdeen in the second quarter of this year, and Zverev and Martin will co-manage the funds until that time.
Manulife Investments also announced that Stephen Docherty, formerly of Aberdeen Asset Management PLC, has been appointed head of global equities, and Dominic Byrne, formerly of Standard Life PLC, has been named deputy head of global equities.
Docherty and Byrne will focus on the integration of the two former firms’ expertise in global equities. The global equity team is expected to be fully integrated early in the second quarter of 2018.
