Mackenzie Financial Corp. today announced its intention to make a management change to Mackenzie Focus Far East Class, subject to obtaining required approvals.

Effective November 16, industry veteran Mark Grammer, vp, investments at Mackenzie Financial, joins the portfolio management team for the fund.

With 16 years of investment experience, Grammer is lead manager of Mackenzie Universal Global Growth Class and co-manager of Mackenzie Universal Global Infrastructure Fund and Mackenzie Focus Japan Class. Prior to joining Mackenzie in 2003, he was vp, international equities and co-head of the global equity team at Altamira Management.

Grammer will share responsibility for selecting a concentrated portfolio of Asian equity securities alongside portfolio managers from Henderson Global Investors, Mackenzie Cundill Investment Management Ltd. and RCM Asia Pacific Ltd.

“We expect Mark’s extensive Asian investment experience to be a valuable addition to Focus Far East,” says David Feather, president of Mackenzie Financial Services Inc. “As well, Mark’s growth investment style will provide a better balance between value managers and growth managers in the portfolio.”
