Investors in two Mackenzie Ivy funds have approved a proposal that broadens the funds’ mandate. Mackenzie Ivy Enterprise Fund and Mackenzie Ivy Enterprise Capital Class will be able to invest mainly in North American, and not strictly Canadian, small- and mid-capitalization equity securities, Mackenzie Investments announced today. The change will be effective as of the close of business today.
The funds currently invest predominantly in the Canadian small- and mid-cap market. The change not only capitalizes on last year’s elimination of the foreign content limit, but also increases the funds’ investment options and provides greater scope to invest in high-quality small and mid-sized Canadian and North American companies in a variety of sectors, the company says.
Stephanie Griffiths will continue as the lead manager on the funds. Griffiths has been a key part of the Mackenzie Ivy team since 1997, joined the Ivy Enterprise Fund as co-manager in 1999 and has been lead manager since 2002.
