Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services Inc. (TSX:IAG) is launching the second generation of its extranet, a secure website for plan members and sponsors of its group savings and retirement plans, as well as for its business partners.

Industrial Alliances says its Group Pensions sector is rapidly expanding, and sales of new group retirement plans grew from some $5 million 12 years ago to approximately $500 million today.

The new site’s flexibility and enhanced IT tools were designed to adapt to users’ growing expectations.

“The rapid evolution of web applications and the increasing expectations of clients for easy access cause us to constantly seek ways to improve our website,” says Lucie Lachance, senior director of actuarial, marketing and administration services for group pensions. “The new extranet gives our clients the most up-to-date tech tools for managing their savings and retirement plans.”

Enhanced IT tools

The new and updated tools include:

> the addition of new utilities such as customized sessions and changing of passwords online;
> a browsing method by menu, which is simpler and more instinctive for users; and
> better performance by the search engine
