Toronto-based IA Clarington Investments Inc. Tuesday launched IA Clarington Global Growth & Income Fund.
Managed by Radin Capital Partners Inc. of Toronto, led by Brad Radin, chief investment officer, along with co-manager Joe Fei, the fund seeks to provide investors with long-term capital appreciation and a monthly income stream by investing in equity securities and in a combination of income mutual funds.
“IA Clarington Global Growth & Income Fund is a compelling global balanced solution that has the flexibility to invest anywhere globally with an allocation to income that can protect investors from the downside typically seen in fixed income when rates rise,” says Eric Frape, senior vice president, product and investments. “Brad’s signature value style can provide stability and capital growth while the income side of the portfolio managed by Jeff Sujitno aims to provide the protection of fixed income while attempting to minimize interest rate risk. This is an important consideration for most investors given the current environment.”
Radin will manage the equity component of the fund and make the overall asset allocation decisions. The equity portion aims to invest in stable, established and undervalued global companies for growth opportunities.
Rather than traditional bonds, the income element of the fund will invest in either IA Clarington Floating Rate Income Fund or IA Clarington Core Plus Bond Fund, depending on Radin’s view of the markets. Both funds are managed by Jeff Sujitno, vice president and portfolio manager, IA Clarington Investments Inc.
Radin Capital Partners also manages the IA Clarington Global Opportunities Fund and IA Clarington Global Opportunities Class, with combined assets of about $350 million.
