A new book on income trusts hit bookstore shelves today. Canadian Income Funds: Your Complete Guide to Income Trusts, Royalty Trusts, and Real Estate Investment Trusts, co-authored by Peter Beck and Simon Romano, uses everyday language to explain this uniquely Canadian investment vehicle.
“When I wrote my first book on hedge funds I was surprised at the response from the general public,” said Peter Beck, president of Swift Trade Inc. “After learning what they could about hedge funds, they invariably asked me about income trusts. We knew then that there was a void that needed to be filled.”
The book offers a comprehensive look at all types of income trusts. It includes examples and definitions, and highlights what to look for when investing in a income trust. There are also profiles on the top 167 income trusts in the country.
“Income trusts can offer significant tax benefits. We wrote this book in order to help the average investor, as well as others, gain a better understanding of these funds and the benefits and risks associated with them,” said Simon Romano, a Partner at Stikeman Elliott LLP.
Canadian Income Funds is published by John Wiley & Sons.
