The Empire Life Insurance Co. today announced enhancements to its Solution Series term life insurance products including a rate refinement, new pricing band and a “no fluids” approach to underwriting policies.
The new “no fluids” approach to policies up to $249,999 and age 45 will be extended to all life insurance products offered by Empire Life. Previously, a saliva or urine HIV test was required to issue a term policy at certain face amounts. The test was either conducted by the client’s advisor or a paramedical nurse.
“The ‘no fluids’ change reflects the emerging standard in the term marketplace and extends it to other life products. We want to do what makes sense for our distribution partners and their clients, and continue to live up to our promise of making it easier to do business with Empire Life,” says Owen Rhoden, manager of individual life and health insurance marketing.
The rates for Solution 10 and Solution 20 have also been refined to be more competitive in the industry with no increases. A new pricing band was also added from $250,000 to $499,999 to provide more options to consumers.
The enhanced products will be promoted to independent distribution partners contracted with Empire Life across the country. A first year commission increase of 5% will be added to Solution 10 and Solution 20 until September 29.
