Dynamic Funds Thursday announced the launch of Dynamic Strategic Resource Class, a new investment vehicle designed to provide a flexible means of investing in the resource sector.
Combining economic and quantitative analysis with fundamental research, the fund will employ a strategic approach to investing in the resource sector.
In addition to equity securities, the fund may invest in precious metals, such as gold, silver, platinum and palladium and in oil and gas to enhance returns and manage risk. The fund may also use Dynamic’s portfolio management expertise in fixed income markets to invest in fixed income securities of resource companies.
The Dynamic portfolio management team has a long history in resource investing. The fund will be co-managed by Robert Cohen, vice president and portfolio manager, and Jennifer Stevenson, vice president and portfolio manager.
Cohen has approximately 20 years experience in the mining sector and is also lead manager for Dynamic Precious Metals Fund and Dynamic Strategic Gold Class.
Headquartered in Calgary, Stevenson has over 20 years of experience in the energy sector and is also portfolio manager of Dynamic Energy Income Fund and Dynamic Strategic Energy Class.
Dynamic says the fund offers investors a broad scope to participate in the secular growth in demand for resources, including the ability to switch into any of the eligible corporate class funds available in Dynamic’s Global Fund Corporation on a tax-deferred basis.
