Toronto-based Dynamic Funds launched an actively managed equity fund focused on emerging markets on Monday.
The Dynamic Emerging Markets Equity Fund invests primarily in companies located or doing business in emerging market countries, said a release from the firm, which is a division of 1832 Asset Management L.P.
Portfolio manager Danilo Martins and vice-president and senior portfolio manager Dana Love are managing the new fund, which has a “medium” risk rating and a 0.90% management fee.
Emerging markets have some of the world’s largest and most innovative companies, Dynamic Funds managing director Mark Brisley said in the release.
“But thorough fundamental analysis by a team who has a deep understanding of these burgeoning markets is key to uncovering opportunities,” he said.
Emerging market inflows reached their highest mark since 2013 in the fourth quarter last year, according to data from the Institute of International Finance. That momentum continued to start this year, with net inflows of about US$53.5 billion in January.
