RBC Insurance is upgrading the Accident Protection option available to Ontario drivers, which offers valuable savings as a reward for maintaining a clean driving record.
Upon purchasing the Accident Protection option, a driver’s first “at fault” accident will not affect their RBC Insurance policy. Effective immediately, Ontario clients will no longer have to wait until it’s time to renew their auto insurance policies to purchase this additional protection — this option will now be offered throughout the policy term as well as at policy renewal. The Accident Protection option costs $50 per vehicle per year and must be purchased prior to an at-fault accident.
The extra protection is offered to qualified Ontario drivers who have not had any at-fault accidents within the last six years, subject to certain conditions. This option will also be available in several other Canadian provinces over the coming months.
“RBC Insurance is committed to providing the best possible options to our clients, including rewards for achieving a clean driving record,” said Stan Seggie, president and CEO, RBC General Insurance Co., in a news release. “We wanted to make this offer so that clients who are prudent drivers aren’t penalized just because of one accident.”
RBC Insurance also offers a deductible rewards feature on its policies, which reduces physical damage deductibles, over time, to as low as $0 if there have not been any physical damage claims on the policy during the previous term.
