(September 28 – 09:40 ET) – CIBC Securities Inc. is launching three new index funds.

Starting today, CIBC will offer the CIBC Nasdaq Index Fund, the CIBC Asia Pacific Index Fund, and the CIBC Emerging Markets Index Fund. The minimum investment for these funds is $500 and subsequent investments can be as small as $25, all three are foreign content.

“With the addition of these three new funds CIBC expands its offer of passively managed funds to 15 and has enhanced its position as the leader of index funds in Canada,” says Ted Cadsby, president and CEO of CIBC Securities Inc. “We are the only company in Canada to offer index funds on all major indices around the world.”

The CIBC Nasdaq Index Fund is the non-registered version of the CIBC Nasdaq Index RRSP Fund, tracking the Nasdaq 100. The CIBC Asia Pacific Index Fund tracks the MSCI All Countries Pacific Free Index, the only Canadian fund that tracks this index. The CIBC Emerging Markets Index Fund is Canada’s only index fund to track the MSCI Emerging Markets Free Index.
