CIBC Asset Management Inc. today announced changes to portfolio subadvisors, portfolio managers, and fund names of certain mutual funds managed by CIBC Asset Management Inc.
CIBC says the changes, which are effective February 1, are being made to continue to provide clients with superior portfolio management expertise.
UBS Global Asset Management (Canada) Co. is appointed as portfolio subadvisor of Renaissance U.S. Basic Value Fund and of the value portion of Frontiers U.S. Equity Pool, replacing Merrill Lynch Investment Managers L.P. UBS currently manages in excess of US$400 billion worldwide.
In addition, Renaissance U.S. Basic Value Fund will be renamed Renaissance U.S. Equity Value Fund. As well, Talvest Renaissance U.S. Basic Value Fund will be renamed Talvest Renaissance U.S. Equity Value Fund.
Bob Doll, president and CIO, Merrill Lynch Investment Managers L.P., is appointed as portfolio manager of Renaissance U.S. Fundamental Growth Fund and of the growth portion of Frontiers U.S. Equity Pool, replacing Lawrence Fuller, Merrill Lynch. Doll has been a portfolio manager with Merrill Lynch since 1999. In addition, Renaissance U.S. Fundamental Growth Fund will be renamed Renaissance U.S. Equity Growth Fund.
A corporate bond component is being added to Frontiers Canadian Fixed Income Pool. Canso Investment Counsel Ltd. is appointed as portfolio sub-advisor of this component, which will make up approximately 10% of the Pool. Canso specializes in corporate bond mandates for pension, institutional, private, and retail clients. As of Dec. 31, 2005, Canso has $750 million in assets under management.
NWQ is appointed as portfolio sub-advisor of the foreign portion of Renaissance Canadian Core Value Fund, replacing Merrill Lynch. NWQ, a Los Angeles-based affiliate of Nuveen Investments Inc., offers a strong value-oriented investment process, seasoned research and portfolio management team, and consistent long-term performance. Founded in 1982, the firm has more than US$41.8 billion in assets under management (as of Sept. 30, 2005) and serves institutions and individual private clients through U.S. equity, global equity and balanced portfolios that span all capitalization ranges.
