CI Investments Inc. and Signature Global Asset Management Tuesday announced the establishment of an office in Hong Kong to lead Signature’s investment research in China and the rest of Asia.
“The equity and debt markets in Asia are maturing rapidly and will grow to match the region’s considerable influence in the global economy,” said Eric Bushell, Signature’s chief investment officer. “A strong presence in the region will help Signature to participate in that growth.”
The office is headed by Gorlen Zhou, director of research, Asia, who will provide macroeconomic analysis as well as generate specific investment ideas for the Signature portfolios. In addition, the office will serve as a resource for other Signature portfolio managers and analysts during their regular visits to the region.
“The new office will play a vital role in building on our relationships in Asia, with both the companies we research and our partners in the financial services industry,” Bushell said.
The office will operate as CI Global Investments Asia Limited, a Hong Kong subsidiary of CI Investments Inc.
Signature Global Asset Management, a division of CI Investments, manages over $50 billion in a diverse lineup of equity, balanced and income-oriented mandates.
CI Investments is a subsidiary of wealth management firm CI Financial Corp. (TSX: CIX).
