Bill Holland, CEO of CI Fund Management Inc., today announced new appointments for several officers at the wealth management firm, including the promotion of Stephen MacPhail to president and COO.
MacPhail was previously executive vp, COO and CFO of CI. He joined the firm as CFO in 1994, prior to the company’s initial public offering. He was appointed COO in 1999, a position he held in addition to his duties as CFO.
In other appointments, Douglas Jamieson has been appointed senior vp and CFO of CI. He retains his position as CFO and senior vp of subsidiary CI Mutual Funds Inc.
Jamieson, who joined CI in 1995, is a chartered accountant. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, an MBA from the Ivey School of Business, and a Masters in Accounting from the University of Waterloo. In a release the company said Jamieson has played a critical role in CI’s acquisition and integration of eight other companies in the past six years.
David Pauli has been appointed executive vp and COO of CI Mutual Funds Inc. Pauli, whose previous position was executive vp, fund operations, has held senior positions at CI Mutual Funds since joining the firm in 1984. He directed the development of CI’s fund operating platform. He is a chartered accountant and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and a Bachelor of Mathematics degree.
Tony Issa has been promoted to executive vp and chief technology officer of CI Mutual Funds and Assante Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of CI. Issa joined CI in 1994 and has been the architect of CI’s overall technology structure. He has also been instrumental in the restructuring of Assante’s asset management and dealership systems.
Steven Donald has been appointed president and COO of Assante. Previously, he was senior vp and CFO. He joined Assante in 2003 from Synergy Asset Management Inc., where he was CFO.
