Desjardins Investments Inc. is planning to change the investment objective of Desjardins Completion Investments Fund to improve its protection against global inflation.
Desjardins also plans to remove the fund’s riskiest asset classes and increase its exposure to inflation-indexed global bonds.
Desjardins proposes to change the investment objective of the fund so that it reads as follows: “The objective of this Fund is to provide income and protection against inflation by investing primarily in inflation-indexed fixed-income securities from issuers around the globe.”
The fund’s name will be changed to better reflect the new investment objective and BlackRock Financial Management will join the fund as a sub-portfolio manager.
Unit holders will be meeting on November 4 to approve these changes. If approved, the changes to the fund’s investment objective would be made effective in November.
In addition, on September 2, shares of the funds categories R- and S-class units will no longer be offered to new investors or to current unitholders, while, T-class units will no longer be offered to new investors.
Furthermore, on November 24, T-class units will be reclassified as A-class units.
